I wish to thank Icelanders for their recent generosity of sending blankets and other woollen items of clothing to help some of Britiain's poorest pensioners, care of Icelands radio show host Heimir Karlsson
What you are about to see and read should not be happening in Britain today, but it is, and what's worse, it's been happening for almost 30 years, since the 1980's, but nobody from the British media, to our politicians, or the British public, is talking about it.
I am hoping somebody will ring me from this station, to go on the air and talk about the plight of UK pensioners from a wider point of view, in the hope that your Icelandic listeners will both contact me, and protest to the British government/and BBC on mass.
